The Case for Her & Refinery29 brief for the D&AD student awards. The brief was to create work to start a discussion around the topic of menopause especially in different ages. From my research I discovered there was a lot of medical information but less personal, and how it personally feels to go through menopause especially at an early age, but I still found quotes how it made them feel ‘half a woman’ or ‘insufficient’, especially as they wanted kids and couldn’t have them and I wanted to express that by taking a lily which is symbolism or birth, rebirth and feminism, tore it apart and created a diary of lilies growing. I created intaglio prints from these imagery mixing photographic techniques, soft-ground etching and aquatint.
